These Raleigh outdoor family photos were, in one word, delightful! This was my third time working with this family, and it’s been such a pleasure to watch them grow.
I first photographed them with baby Kelsey was pregnant with Eva. Last spring I photographed their newborn session once she was born, and now that same sweet baby is 13 months old!
I’m always astounded when I see my newborn clients after a year. I’m no stranger to how quickly babies grow, but when you don’t see them for a year, it’s even more apparent.
As you all know, kids will be kids. Photo session or not, they typically have their own agenda and aren’t incredibly interested in what yours is for them.
So during a photo session, they’re going to run, wander and not listen to me and even you occasionally.
Here’s the good news: I depend on them to do this to get the best photos possible. Call me crazy, but I actually prefer that your kids don’t look at me and smile the whole time. I get pretty bored with that, and your images are going to end up looking like everyone else’s.
You came to me to get something unique. You came to me to photograph the heart and soul of your family; not some facade of who you want people to think you are.
So know that it is fine if your kids go rogue for a while. Unless they’re totally untamable and won’t hang out with you at all, I will get good photos. I promise.
