This newborn session with four kids was the final one I photographed before heading out on maternity leave to expand my own family to four kids. How ironic is that?!
I first photographed a family session for this adorable family in the Fall of 2020 when Julia was early in her pregnancy. I was so excited when she reached out to me to photograph her newborn session as well!
Four kids is a lot. I know from personal experience. What I don’t know that this family does, though, is what it’s like to almost have four under four. No, really!! Their oldest son turned four just before their youngest was born.
Suffice it to say I’m impressed. Four kids, no matter their ages, is no small feat. But to have four little ones adds another level to that challenge. Somehow, though, Matt and Julia handle it so well!
When it comes to photographing large families, my theory is always “the more, the merrier!”. I know some people are intimidated by bigger families, but to me, it creates more opportunities for sweet moment to unfold. There’s more interaction in each image, and it adds a layer of depth to each image. It also presents more opportunities to communicate feeling through each photo. And if you know me, I’m always here for that.
So whether you’re expecting your first or your fifth, I’m game and ready to take it on!
