The only in-home newborn session you know you’re chosen for before being asked is your sister’s. Or at least you hope so, and luckily Lauren and Eric chose me to fulfill the role of newborn photographer for them!
Lauren and Eric left the gender of their baby a surprise until the day she was born. And because of COVID restrictions at the hospital, all family members found out via a Facetime call with our new family member.
Of course, everyone would’ve loved to have been there, but technology made the restrictions a little more bearable!
I was fortunate enough to stay with my niece for a couple of days and get acquainted. Girlfriend is beautiful and sleeps like a champ. In case you were wondering, this is every new parent’s dream.
Having a front row seat to seeing Eric and Lauren immerse themselves in parenthood was so special. First of all, they’re rocking it. And second, they’re complete naturals.
I’ve always been pretty sure I was a frazzled disaster after having Beckett. And now having seen them and comparing myself, I’m positive that I was.
As I expected, I need my younger sister to school me on how to be a good mom because she’s already killing it. 😂
Their newborn session is easily one of my favorites for obvious reasons. They are family after all. But also because they trusted me.
After their session I realized how big of a difference it makes when you have full trust in your photographer and how they guide you.
We scheduled their photos at the best time for good lighting. Lauren fed Georgia right before we began. They followed my recommendations on what to wear. They heated their house up to make Georgia a little sleepier.
Lauren and Eric did all of the things I asked them to do to create a successful newborn session, and as I think you’ll see, the photos speak for themselves.
Whoever you hire to capture your newborn photos, make sure you trust them! And then follow their guidance. They’re only giving it to ensure you get the best results possible.
