Being an in-home newborn photographer in Raleigh gives me some great opportunities. There are opportunities to see different parts of Raleigh and the surrounding suburbs that I may not have ventured to otherwise. And there are chances to step foot inside some beautiful homes. But more than anything it gives me the opportunity to connect with some really amazing people.
And this family of five? They’re pretty amazing.
One of the things that I love about my clients is that they’re generally pretty laid back and friendly. I find myself stopping in the middle of newborn sessions simply to chat about parenthood and everything that being a mom is.
It’s one of the perks of the job that I never would have anticipated but am forever grateful for.
Before newborn baby June’s session, Hayley and I Facetimed to determine which rooms of their house we would use for their newborn photos. Personally, I love doing this.
Not only does it give my clients the opportunity to know where to focus their “clearing of the clutter” efforts, but it also gives me a chance to plan more effectively for each session.
When I know which rooms I’m working with, how the furniture is arranged and where the windows are, the prep that I put into a session is much more focused. I’m able to plan out the session more intentionally.
And all of this? It makes for better photos for you!
I’m currently working in some ways to make sure this happens for every session. Because each and every client deserves the absolute best photos!
Be sure to take a moment to watch this newborn video while you’re here. It’s pretty sweet!
