This Fuquay-Varina newborn session was so much fun with newborn baby Connor and big brother JB! Toddlers always add an element of surprise to a newborn session, but personally, that’s what I love most about them.
Their energy is unmatched, and their unpredictability sometimes makes for my favorite photos ever. This session was no exception when JB went flying over his dad’s shoulders as everyone set on the bed. It’s not what I would call perfectly-posed, but it is very true to life, is it not?!
If you do have older siblings joining a newborn session, one of the best things you can do is have a grandparent there to take them for the parts of the session they’re not needed for!
Toddlers have the attention span of a goldfish, and hanging around watching photos being taken of their new sibling likely isn’t their idea of a good time. This sometimes results in tantrums or unwanted behavior.
If, on the other hand, you have a grandparent there to entertain them, it makes a world of difference! That was the case with this newborn session, and I can’t recommend it enough.
JB was able to take breaks between times that we needed him for photos and play with his grandma. I don’t know many toddlers who are going to be upset about that!
