I just adored this session. Kelly and I first connected after I announced I was pregnant with twins. Clearly, she has twin boys of her own so we had plenty to talk about! And then she asked me to photograph this in-home session for her family before they moved from Durham to Virginia!
I think Kelly was just as excited as I was about this session, if that’s possible. It was such a great way for them to document this home that was so special to them in this season of life. There’s just something about the home you bring your babies home to for the first time that will always hold a special place in your heart. It certainly makes it harder to leave than your average home, at least in my experience.
Even after this session, Kelly and I continued to chat back and forth, especially as my due date with the twins approached and I entered twin parenthood. And more recently, we’ve continued to talk over Marco Polo about all of the things – motherhood, social media, Jesus, life… all of it!
While I don’t always end up chatting over Marco Polo with all of my clients, I would venture to say that most of them become more like friends over time. It’s a perk of this job that I never saw coming but one that I absolutely love.
Enough chatting already, though! Catch a glimpse into this sweet family’s life, and be sure to watch their family video up top as well!
