Luke was already 13 days old when Megan contacted me about doing a newborn session at her home in Apex, NC. Luckily, I had room to squeeze them in and we made it happen!
She had some reservations due to Covid but knew that she would regret it if she didn’t have newborn photos captured. And naturally, I 100 percent agreed with her!
So, I masked up, sanitized all of the things and made sure this Apex in-home newborn session got underway!
Big brother Caleb will be three in a few months and is adjusting to his new role as a big brother.
There’s always an element of surprise when you incorporate a toddler into a newborn session. But personally, I think it makes for more fun too!
One of the parts that I loved most about their in-home newborn session was the little slices of real life I was able to capture. Toddlers are so candid and unpredictable and make so much opportunity for that to happen.
Megan is a self-admitted photo lover. If you know me, you know I can get down with that. Because she loves photos so much, she had several different outfits to put newborn baby Luke in.
We started off with a white onesie, which is basically a staple in all of my sessions. Then Luke changed into a little brother onesie, as well as two precious little gowns. The first gown was a beautiful blue color, and the second was a safari print.
What I loved about these outfits was the simplicity of them. It was a great way to add variation to the session without going overboard.
I’m a big fan of clean and simple, and these cute little outfits totally fit the bill.
Alan and Megan, thank you so much for inviting me into your home to document this special time in your lives! Documenting your story and your family was such a pleasure!
