3 Month Photos with Family
Just as I don’t do your standard smash cake session, I also don’t do your standard milestone 3 month photos. But I am happy to do 3 month photos of your baby with his or her family, just as I did in this session with the Eckles family!
One of the great thing about photos at this age is that babies aren’t yet mobile. So there’s a lot less baby wrangling and forcing them to stay somewhere they don’t want to be. They’re typically most content in your arms, so it works out well that that’s where I prefer photographing them too!
Mom needs to be in the photos
One of the reasons I prefer this type of milestone session is that as moms, we’re rarely in photos. And if we are, it’s a selfie more often than not.
Even if you don’t feel like being in the photo, you really need to get in the photo. Think back to photos you see of yourself with your own parents when you were a baby or child. Don’t they pull at your heartstrings? You may not remember the photo being taken, but you can look at it and you can feel the love and adoration your parents had for you.
Your child deserves to have the same kind of keepsakes once he or she is grown. They won’t care if you were holding on to an extra 10 pounds from pregnancy or if your gray hairs and wrinkles were starting to show themselves. They’ll simply be grateful that they have this documentation of the two of you together. He or she will be so thankful that they can see the love you had for them at a time that they may not remember.
So whether it’s 3 month photos, 6 month or 1 year photos, get in the photo. You’ll never regret it and neither will your children.
