We had this Cary newborn session scheduled for a day that was supposed to be dreary and cloudy. To our surprise and delight, though, the clouds cleared and the sun even showed up for a bit!
You may be thinking that the weather shouldn’t matter because newborn photos are taken indoors anyway. And to some extent, you’re right. I don’t typically cancel newborn sessions due to weather, because it’s not raining and cold inside anyone’s house.
That being said, having some good sunlight stream through a window can be a huge plus when photographing indoors! This is especially true if I’m working in a home that doesn’t have outstanding natural light to begin with. In that scenario, a cloudy day can be really limiting.
Carter was one of three February newborns I had who arrived earlier than anticipated. Sarah was induced at 37 weeks and Miss Carter made her debut well before her parents expected her!
She weighed a healthy eight pounds at birth, though, and is doing so well at home with her mom and dad.
She slept through her entire newborn session like a champ and didn’t seem to mind all of the love and snuggles from her parents. But I’m pretty sure you’ll see that as you scroll through the photos below!
