As a Raleigh lifestyle newborn photographer, one of the things I love most about newborn photos is the comfortability of being in your home. There’s no packing up of all of the baby things and making the trek to a studio. There’s no contorting of baby’s body into an uncomfortable position.
There’s simply you, your family and your home, and it is always so comfortable.
I always strive to portray comfort in my images, because to me, family is comfortable. They’re the people you can be your truest self with. And they don’t love you despite that; they love you because of it.
Naturally I’m thrilled when a family wants their photos to feel as comfortable as I envision family being. And this family absolutely filled that part of my vision.
From their laid back yet perfect wardrobe choices to the undone bed to playing the guitar, everything oozed of comfort during their newborn session, just as it should in my opinion.
When Emily first reached out about this newborn session, she was extremely hopeful that I’d be willing to travel a couple of hours towards the NC coast to document this occasion in their lives. She was in luck!
While I don’t travel a lot, I am open to traveling for newborn or family sessions when it makes sense to. I keep my travel schedule light, because I have four kiddos of my own at home. It’s always worth reaching out and asking, though!
