This North Ridge newborn session was the kind of newborn photo session that I never wanted to end! Sweet baby Sophie slept like a champ the entire time and chatting with her parents the whole time felt more like talking to friends than clients.
This happens a lot with in-home newborn sessions, though, if I’m being honest! Being in your own home just naturally provides a laid back environment for everyone involved. And so everyone is a little more comfortable and at ease. I don’t know about you, but I am all for that.
You wouldn’t know it by looking at these photos, but Sophie arrived much earlier than expected.
Although she was due to arrive in mid February, Sophie ended up being a Christmas day surprise for her parents! After spending some time in the NICU she was able to come home, though, and is doing very well.
So she was technically seven weeks old at the time of these newborn photos. When babies are born early, though, you can push newborn photos out to a time closer to their due date, and it still works out beautifully!
Chris is from the Raleigh area, and Sian is from Connecticut. I didn’t know this until the day of their session, but they actually met through and are best friends with Will and Kathleen, the parents from this twin newborn session!
Sian and Kathleen were roommates in college at Elon, and their story unfolds from there.
I always love finding out that clients were referred to me from other newborn clients! It’s truly the best compliment, and it gives me more insight into their story.
Chris and Sian, thank you for trusting me to document your newborn photos for Sophie! It was truly a pleasure meeting you, and I wish you all the best on this journey into parenthood!
