Baby William was eager to enter this world and decided to arrive a few days before his scheduled date! He’s a healthy little guy but had to spend a few unexpected days in the NICU in Evansville after being born in Jasper. My heart always goes out to parents whose baby has to spend anytime in the NICU. I don’t know from personal experience, but I can imagine that it’s a very trying time emotionally!
Unlike most newborn sessions, we did William’s when he was about three weeks old because of his extended stay at the hospital. You’ll probably notice that he’s definitely more alert than most newborns, and that’s why! It’s amazing how much they can change in just a matter of weeks! I love the eye contact that he makes with his parent and with the camera, though. It’s so so sweet.
We did the Campbell’s newborn session at their home in Jasper, IN. William’s nursery was beautifully decorated in a jungle animal theme. The colors of black, white, yellow, gray and mint green all complemented each other so perfectly. And one of my favorite details was the big giraffe they had in his room!
Chelsea and I talked about how she wanted to avoid the “baby” type animals in his room that you see in many nurseries, and I think she did a wonderful job! It can be really challenging to achieve a more sophisticated look in a nursery, but Chelsea managed to make it happen.
Thank you, Jason and Chelsea, for trusting me to capture this fleeting season of life for you, and congrats on your adorable new addition!
