Wouldn’t you know that my first session after my own maternity leave (besides my sister’s engagement) was a maternity session? Ironic, isn’t it?! These two make getting behind the camera again an absolute joy, though.
Ryan and Haleigh are the kind of people you instantly feel at home around. They make you feel comfortable, like you’ve known them forever.
You can’t help but feel happiness when you’re around them. The way they laugh and smile together is contagious. And it’s obvious that those smiles aren’t just for the camera. It’s who they are when no one is watching too.
Haleigh wanted to do their maternity session at their home – part of it inside and part of it on their land. The day started out beautifully. The sun was shining just perfectly, but as the day went on, the clouds came right in and replaced that gorgeous sunshine.
Luckily, though, nothing could put a damper on the beauty that radiates from this mama-to-be. The photos speak for themselves, but she truly is glowing at 36 plus weeks pregnant.
Their home turned out to be the perfect setting. I love thinking about how their sweet little boy will be able to see his mom and dad anxiously awaiting his arrival inside the walls of the home he’ll soon grow up in. He’ll be able to see the looks of joy and adoration on their faces at the anticipation of meeting him in just a few short weeks. And he’ll be able to stand in those exact places that they stood while they felt all of the emotions that first time parents-to-be feel.
There isn’t a setting gorgeous enough to trump the value of documenting a place with such a special and heartfelt meaning behind it.
Ryan and Haleigh, I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to document this fleeting season of your life! I know you’re going to make incredible parents, and I’m so excited for you to experience this next chapter in your lives with baby Brooks!
