Hi I’m Morgan! I’m a photography educator and Raleigh, NC newborn photographer and family photographer.

Meet Morgan

Reading Time: 4 minutes

When I rebranded my business last year, I made the decision to focus primarily on lifestyle newborn photography in addition to weddings. As many of you know, I still photograph families as of right now, but newborns and families are what really set my creative soul on fire.

There are several studio newborn photographers in the Evansville area, but I noticed that no one was really going for it in the lifestyle newborn photography arena. It was a gap in the market, as some might say. And luckily for me, it’s a gap that I’m more than happy to fill. And even more luckily for me, there were some sweet families who invited me into their homes in 2017 to document those fleeting moments with their newborns.

There’s something so special about being able to capture a new season of life like this in the very place that it’s happening. Being able to capture the home that your baby first lived in, the crib he or she first slept in, the chair that you rocked them to sleep in night after sleepless night, the nursery that you poured your decorator’s soul into among other things is so incredibly special. It’s so true to life in a way that many forms of photography aren’t.

I truly feel that lifestyle newborn photos are something we hold near and dear to our hearts now, as parents, but I think their value multiplies exponentially as we grow older – and as those little babies grow older.

So I consider it an honor to be asked to document such a life-changing season for these families. I know in my heart that they’ll nostalgically look back on those photos as that once tiny newborn grows into a toddler, a child, a teenager and an adult. I know that they’ll look at those photos through misty eyes as they prepare for their son or daughter to pack the car for college or to walk down the aisle and say their vows.

And even though that tiny baby has grown and accomplished so much, they’ll still hold that same love for them in their heart that they did when those photos were taken. They’ll still be mesmerized by them. They’ll still be so proud to call him their son or her their daughter. And they’ll still want to hold onto and protect them. But they’ll know it’s time to let go, and so they will. But that photo captured so long ago? That precious moment that they’ll gaze at their misty eyes? That moment doesn’t have to go. That moment stays.

So thank you, to each and every mom and dad who trusted me to capture such a precious season of life for you. As a fellow parent, I know how fleeting that season is and how important it is to have it documented. So thank you for putting that responsibility in my hands.
