This Cary family photo session was full of fun and energy. There’s a real difference in photographing toddlers and photographing older kids, and it comes through in photos in the best way.
What I love most about what comes through is the way sibling and parent/child relationships evolve over time, yet stay the same in many ways. Kids naturally let their silly sides show as they get a bit older, but the love and affection they have towards their parents is still evident.
They still find comfort in a snuggle from mom, and they find joy in the playfulness with dad. It’s something you see with the youngest babies to older children, and it’s heartwarming to know that those things stay consistent despite how children change in other ways as they grow up.
Another thing I loved about this Cary family photo session was that their grandma, who they refer to as Nana, was a part of the photos! I especially loved taking photos of Nana and her three grandkids.
The love that they have for their grandma was so obvious. There was a real comfort and adoration there that I love seeing between a grandparent and grandchildren. I’ve felt it myself, so I know how special that bond can be.
They snuggled up to her so perfectly, as if they had done it a thousand times before – probably because they have! That level of comfort is the best and easiest to photograph, because the emotions are natural and evident.
Thank you so much to the Hagen family for trusting me to photograph your family! You all were so much fun!
