One of the perks of having in-laws who live in Phoenix? You get to go to Phoenix a lot. We’ve traveled out there almost every March since Justin and I have been together, and it’s always such a welcome reprieve from the chill of winter.
It starts getting a little more complicated once there’s a kiddo involved. Any by complicated, I mean terrifying to take a three hour flight. We never really know how Beckett is going to do in those situations.
We made it a little more manageable by driving to St. Louis and flying from there, and it turned out to be an excellent decision! No layovers are always good when a toddler is involved, and as it turns out, St. Louis’s airport has this incredible mock airport playspace for little ones. Beckett loved it, and he was able to expend a lot of his energy before we tied him down for the flight.
Once we made it to Phoenix, we were able to enjoy some incredible weather, time away from work, a trip to the zoo, a spring training game, and Justin and I even had a Scottsdale date night!
