Christy and Paul were married in a small intimate ceremony at Traditions Lounge at the University of Southern Indiana, and it was so well-suited for them! If there has ever been a more laid back bride than Christy, I’ve yet to meet her. She was so chill the entire day and was genuinely excited to be marrying Paul.
What I love about small weddings like this is that the focus is entirely on what it’s supposed to be on – getting married! All of the details and stress over the details are stripped away, and what you’re left with is two people who are ecstatic to be promising forever to one another.
As I walked Christy out to meet Paul for their first look, she shared some advice that she had just received from her sister. “She told me to recite the Pledge of Allegiance if I feel like I’m going to ugly cry,” Christy said. Christy said she wanted to remain in the moment, though, so she was going to try to refrain from pledging allegiance to the flag during their first look.
And when she saw Paul’s face, she kept it together just beautifully. There was definitely emotion on both of their parts, but Christy was able to hold in her tears for the time being.
Christy’s dad officiated the ceremony, so she and Paul walked down the aisle together for their entrance. They read their own vows to one another, and they were some truly beautiful words. The tears flowed down Christy’s cheeks as she read her vows to Paul. You could tell that they both meant every word they said to one another.
Following the ceremony, the guests gathered for cocktail hour across the hall and then followed that up with a delicious dinner. I stole the newly married couple away for a few sunset photos before their festivities came to an end.
Mr. and Mrs. Brodzik, I wish you all the happiness that life has to offer you. You are two of the kindest and most genuine people I’ve met, and I can’t thank you enough for including me in your special day! Congratulations!
