The most important thing you should know about this post is that Lauren is my sister. This makes Eric my soon-to-be brother-in-law, and all of that together makes this engagement session a pretty special one to me.
I’ve always told Lauren that I would shoot a free engagement session for her, because well… she is my sister. That, and I’m clearly not going to be shooting her wedding. I’m certain her photos would be out of focus due to my sobbing behind the lens, but I digress.
Eric popped the question on Christmas day at my parents’ house after we had finished opening gifts. It was the best thing to be able to witness, and I’m so thankful that he chose to do it in that setting. And yes, of course I took pictures, but I’ll save those for another post.
Lauren proposed the idea of a snowy engagement session should the opportunity present itself, and of course I was on board. And as luck would have it, it snowed less than a week later. And if you know Evansville weather, you know that a decent snowfall isn’t always a guarantee every winter. Suffice it to say, the stars definitely aligned for us.
We discussed their wardrobe beforehand and made sure everything was in place so that when the snow fell, we would be ready. As a side note, it’s a lot easier to give wardrobe advice for an engagement session when you know the vast majority of what your subjects have in their closets.
Of course I’m a little biased, but Eric and Lauren looked perfect. So perfect that I swear some of their photos could be from the pages of the winter edition of a J.Crew magazine.
I’m so thrilled that we were able to do this session together and that I had the opportunity to document their love and relationship from my perspective. Now let the wedding countdown begin: Less than seven months!!
I loved every photo. You two are so good together, congratulations and wish you happiness in sharing your love together
SO stinkin cute! I can totally tell you two are sisters!!!
