As a newborn photographer in Raleigh, I frequently get repeat newborn photography clients. That was the case with this family!
I first photographed big sister Reese’s newborn photos in January of 2021. It was such an honor to be asked to come back to their home and document their expansion to a family of four!
Rescheduling In-Home Photo Sessions
The weather was looking somewhat questionable leading up to this family’s newborn session. And while I obviously photograph newborns inside the home, the weather is still a determining factor in whether or not the session happens.
The reason being that rain and thick cloud cover outside has a significant impact on the natural light inside the home. Generally speaking, a cloudy day will not deter a newborn session from happening. But if it’s a rainy or stormy day, there’s a really high chance we’ll reschedule your photo session.
The windows in your home can impact this as well. If your home has fewer windows, large trees outside of those windows and mediocre light to begin with, then there’s also a chance we would reschedule on an extremely cloudy day.
For me, light is a huge game change in your photos. And knowing how to use it and use it well makes a world of difference. So I don’t take any chances when the weather isn’t looking great!
For this session, though, what we thought might be a rainy and stormy morning turned out to be gorgeous and sunny!
We were so happy we moved forward with our scheduled session even though things weren’t looking promising at one point.
