I first met Elizabeth a couple of years ago when I did a mini session for her and her daughter Caroline. Fast forward to earlier this year, and she reached out to me to see if I’d be willing to travel to Nashville for a newborn session. OF COURSE, I would be!
She warned me that they would be moving shortly before their baby was born and that the house may not be picture perfect. I assured her that all I needed was a neutral wall and some good window light, and we’d be golden.
As it turned out, the Jackson family actually ended up moving into their new home just three weeks before sweet little Lucas was born! I consider it a victory in and of itself to move at that point in your pregnancy and even have your furniture placed where it’s supposed to go.
Understandably so, Elizabeth didn’t have time to decorate every corner of their house to complete perfection before our session, so we utilized the nursery and the master bedroom for their session, and while I’m biased, I think it turned out beautifully.
You really don’t need a home decorate to the nines to do an in-home newborn session, you guys! Neutral walls, windows and a whole lot of love are all you need, and this session is living proof of that.
