This Fuquay-Varina newborn session included all of the elements that make for newborn photography perfection. Those elements are a beautifully decorated nursery, a sleepy baby, really good natural light, excellent wardrobe choices, clients who trust me and a whole lot of love.
This is not to say that you can’t have an incredible newborn session without all of those things. But it certainly helps when they all come together this beautifully!
Shortly after Melissa inquired about my newborn photography services, she told me that she and her husband had decided to find out the gender of their baby before she was born.
The first reason being that they’re both type A planners and simply couldn’t wait. And the second reason being that they didn’t know what restrictions would be in place due to COVID at the time of Melissa giving birth. They wanted to make sure that they could find out together, which I totally understand!
Because Melissa’s husband, Scooter, couldn’t be at the anatomy scan, she had the ultrasound tech write the gender of their precious baby on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope.
The parents-to-be then went into a children’s clothing store and picked out one girl outfit and one boy outfit. They had the cashier take a peek at the gender and then place the corresponding outfit inside of a gift bag.
Melissa and Scooter then opened the gift together to find out at the same time! They were so surprised to find out it was a girl but simultaneously very happy and excited!
And if these photos are any indication, I think it’s safe to say that they’re still very happy. The love that they have for Emerson is palpable, and I’m sure it will only grow as time goes on!
