I have LOVED Tyler and Khristian from our very first meeting last Fall. They’re one of those couples you just know from the bottom of your heart are meant to be. And on top of that, they’re so much fun to be around. I would happily hang out with them all the time, because you can’t help but smile while you’re in their presence. But I won’t go into all of that again, because I believe I covered it at length in their engagement session blog post!
Tyler and his groomsmen got ready for the wedding day at the Cambridge Activities Center, while Khristian and her bridesmaids prepared at a family friend’s house near Cambridge Golf Course. After getting their hair done at Diverse Salon, the ladies headed to the house to have their makeup done by the DaKyissa Cleon and her fabulous team. The girls sipped on mimosas and nibbled on some tasty food as they prepared for the day. Before Khristian’s makeup was complete, a gift, card and flowers were delivered to her from Tyler. Luckily Dakyissa was still there, because Khristian cried a good bit of her makeup off as she read her groom’s sweet words to her.
Khristian stepped into her bridal gown from Ella Park Bridal with the help of her bridesmaids and mom. After she was completely dressed she sat down to put her shoes on. One of her bridesmaids handed her the pair of white Converse shoes she had planned to wear with the soles facing her. It was then that she realized that Tyler had written on the bottom of one shoe, “I’ll love you”, and on the other one, “every step of the way”. UMMM, you guys! How sweet is that?!?
The wedding ceremony was held inside the ballroom at Cambridge, and Saundra with Planning Forever Events and Khristian had it decorated so beautifully! The wedding colors of blush, navy and gold were sprinkled throughout the room, and the dance floor was clear of chairs for Khristian to walk down the aisle. Tall vases filled with water and flowers lined each side of the aisle connected by a blush ribbon.
Khristian entered the room with her dad by her side, and by the time she reached Tyler at the end of the aisle she could no longer contain the tears. Their wedding ceremony was everything it should have been – full of love, emotion, happiness and laughter. Instead of a unity candle, the bride and groom opted to mix pink and navy M&M’s together in a jar. They took turns pouring them in and would each conveniently steal a bite or two when the M&M’s ended up outside of the jar rather than in. It definitely made for some good entertainment and laughter!
Guests mingled for cocktail hour after the ceremony was over. The reception began with a memorable entrance by the wedding party. The new Mr. and Mrs. of course entered the ballroom to a huge applause, but instead of immediately taking their seats they spontaneously decided to keep breaking it down once they reached their sweetheart table. You know I adore a couple who loves to have fun, so you better believe I was grinning ear to ear behind my camera for that moment.
After a couple of heartfelt toasts and a few sweet dances, Mr. and Mrs. Choate enjoyed the rest of the night by hitting the dance floor and visiting with their friends and family who had come to help them celebrate.
Congrat to you both, Tyler and Khristian! I am so honored that you chose me to document the beautiful moments that took place on your wedding day. May the love and laughter that fills your life today continue in all of your years to come!
