Baby Girl In-Home Newborn Session
This baby girl in-home newborn session was my first newborn session of 2021. I must say, I’m really looking forward to what 2021 has in store if this session is any indication of what’s to come!
Nick and Kate were so laid back and fun to work with. Many times newborn sessions feel like hanging out with friends at their home while taking photos, and this session was no exception. There was a lot of photo taking and newborn video making, but there was also a lot of laughing and good conversation. It’s not a bad way to spend your time working if you ask me!
The best parts of in-home newborn sessions
The laid back vibe is one of my favorite things about in-home newborn sessions. You’re in the place you feel most comfortable – your home. And you’re also in the place where your story actually unfolds on a daily basis, which makes it all the more special in my opinion.
Whether it’s your first baby or your fourth, everyone seems to feel more comfortable and relaxed when they’re at home. In turn, this makes for some of the most authentic and genuine photos. And if you didn’t know, that’s kind of my jam.
The other perk is that baby doesn’t have to sleep the whole time. If he or she opens their eyes for some photos, it’s not a big deal! This is real life after all, and while newborns sleep a lot, we all know they don’t sleep all the time! We’d be getting a lot more sleep if they did, right?!
And so, in-home newborn sessions are typically a lot shorter as well. This is simply because baby doesn’t have to be 100 percent zonked out the whole time.
There are a lot of reasons I love in-home newborn sessions, but from a client’s perspective, I think these are some of the most relevant and important!
